Welcome to the complex stage of international relations where the interaction of nations-states, organizations, and individuals shape the global world we live in.
Course Description
In this course we will examine key concepts, theories, and dynamics that govern international relations, politics, and diplomacy in the globalized world. Centered around case studies and analysis of current events, we will examine modern-day relationships between the US and the rest of the world through a holistic framework that applies historical, political, social, and religious context to current international relations. We will examine historical and modern-day relationships between the US and the rest of the world along with ongoing crises of international concern, like de-stabilization in the Ukraine and Middle East. With an understanding of current political dynamics on the global stage, students will learn about international organizations and the roles they play in global alliances and economic, social and political solutions. Through a mixture of instruction, applied case studies, and stimulating discussions, students will come away from this course with a strong understanding of international relations.
