Explore how psychological principles and research inform the understanding of our reality with an introduction into this fascinating field.
Course Description
In this course, we will explore foundational concepts that both explain and frame our understanding of the human experience. We will ponder the ways that people function socially, cognitively and emotionally, applying theory to topics such as the human psyche and the mind-body connection. For example, Bandura's social learning theory and the cognitive perspective will be explored, as well as the biological and physiological perspectives and application theory. Develop critical thinking skills as we test theories such as Bandura’s social learning theory and the cognitive perspective, and conduct classroom experiments to gain a deeper understanding of the human mind and how it functions to affect behavior. Whether you're interested in pursuing a career in psychology or simply want to learn more about this fascinating field, this course is a fantastic place to start.
