Throughout the course, students will be able to understand the need for professionalization in the industry and how financial contributions from the sports industry stimulate economic growth, create jobs, and boost tourism, playing a vital role in many countries' economies. The program will focus on European Sports with special attention to Football Clubs and Leagues, which generate billions of dollars in revenue from various streams such as ticket sales, merchandise, broadcasting rights, and sponsorships. Additionally, students will explore how the sports industry also plays a crucial role in fostering a sense of community, examining examples like Real Madrid CF and how it contributes to social integration in the city of Madrid. Students will also have the opportunity to understand the importance of sporting events, how those events are managed, and visit several sports facilities including Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Metropolitano Atlético Madrid Stadium, Wizink Center Arena, and other facilities in the city.
