Students will have the opportunity to produce and film their own short picture leveraging the professional techniques and principles of digital cinematography. This academy will give students the analytical skills and critical vocabulary for the study of filmmaking as a technical, artistic, and cultural phenomenon. Students will explore pre-production concepts (such as pitching and selling ideas, script breakdown, storytelling, casting, and budgeting). Students will then shape their vision in the storytelling process while they make their own short movie and develop skills in camera operation, multiple camera shooting, formatting, ratios, composition, lighting technique, sound design, editing and post- production.
