Course Description
In this program, students will gain an in-depth understanding of key AI technologies, such as computer vision, natural language processing, and neural networks, and the ethical considerations that come with using these tools. Through hands-on learning in the first half of the program, students dive into essential AI concepts, applications, and tools with coding sessions and practical labs. As they develop their technical skills, students will see firsthand how AI can contribute to social good, from addressing healthcare needs to improving environmental sustainability. In the second half of the course, they will work in instructor-led teams on a project tailored to a topic of their choice—such as music, environmental science, or finance—using AI as a tool to make a meaningful impact in their chosen field. Final projects will be presented in a formal showcase at the program’s end. This course covers foundational principles of machine learning while emphasizing how AI can make a positive social impact.
