Course Description

The complex world of sports is fraught with societal challenges, including the historical context of race and gender, violence among players, performance-enhancing substances, recruitment ethics, college sports reform, and more. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of these controversial issues and how they impact the industry, society, and athletes. Through interactive discussions, we will explore how sports can become a catalyst for positive social transformation, as students explore solutions - and become advocates - for social justice.
